Escudo de Veraguas is a small island just 17 kilometres off the coast of panama, north of Bocas del Toro. It measures 4.3km squared and it's only inhabited by a few indigenous people and visited by seasonal fishermen and hunters. It is home to a variety of animals, including the endemic Pygmy three-toed sloth, Worm Salamander and Solitary fruit-eating Bat.
